You can find the list of GoPro cameras compatible with the GoPro Quik application on GoPro’s official website. Every GoPro camera since the HERO3+ can connect to your phone.
Furthermore, the compatible mobile devices include:
- iPhones with iOS 13 or newer
- Android phones with Android 9.0 or later and a minimum of 2GB of RAM

You can also connect your GoPro to your phone using a wired connection. However, not every camera is compatible.
Here are the requirements and compatible cameras:
- GoPro Quik v10.8 and newer
- HERO10 Black

- HERO7 Black (Android Only)
- HERO6 Black (Android Only)

The main benefit of using a wired connection is that it doesn’t require WiFi or Bluetooth. Furthermore, downloading files onto your phone is much faster if you use a wired connection compared to wireless.
How to Connect GoPro to Your Android Phone via USB
Step 1: Find a cable that is compatible with your phone and GoPro camera. Then go to the Play Store and install GoPro Quik.
GoPro HERO7, 6, 5 Black users can skip to step 3.
Step 2: Turn on your GoPro camera and swipe down to access the Settings. Click Connections and then USB Connection. Make sure the USB Connection is on MTP.
Step 3: Insert the cable into your GoPro camera and Android phone. Then, open GoPro Quik on your phone, and the application will automatically connect to your GoPro.
You can now view and download your GoPro photos and videos on your phone.
How to Connect GoPro to Your iPhone via USB
Remember, only the GoPro HERO10 and GoPro HERO9 cameras are compatible with iPhones via a wired connection.
Step 1: You will need a standard USB-A to USB-C cable and Apple’s Lightning to USB Adapter. You also need to visit the App Store and install GoPro Quik.
Step 2: Turn on your GoPro camera. Only on the GoPro HERO9 Black (skip this step if you have a GoPro HERO10), swipe down on the settings to enter your Settings menu. Swipe right and tap Connections. Then open USB Connection and choose GoPro Connect.
Step 3: Insert the USB-C cable into your GoPro camera.
Step 4: Connect the USB-A port to your adapter, then connect the adapter to your iPhone.
Step 5: Open GoPro Quik, and your camera will automatically connect to your phone.
Keep in mind, the only supported adapter is Apple’s Lightning to USB Adapter. Other adapters won’t work.

Luckily, GoPro Quik is free and easy to use. The interface is also beautiful and straightforward. I can’t think of any reasons why you wouldn’t want to use GoPro Quik.

Simply put, GoPro Quik is an all-in-one solution for saving, editing, and sharing your favorite videos and photos.
Rather than scrolling endlessly through your camera feed to find your favorite GoPro shots, GoPro Quik saves all your shots in one place. However, you can download the files onto your phone’s camera roll if you’d like.
You can post your best shots to your private Mural within the GoPro Quik app. GoPro Quik also lets you share your content with your friends, or social media feeds directly through the application. You can also edit your videos or photos with GoPro Quik.
